The Sun recently reported that a drone enthusiast was approached by the police after flying his drone near Windsor Castle, and informed to keep a distance of at least 50m to the Castle.
This incident in itself is not very spectacular (and potentially slightly blown out of proportion?) but it is a part of a wave of incidents involving drones that we have seen the last couple of months.
As our common interest spreads to more people, we are bound to see the issue being a part of the public debate. The pilot in question was not prosecuted but only asked to delete the footage; however it is only a matter of time before more severe incidents take place sparking stricter regulation.
It is in our common interest to create a save, healthy and solid environment where we can enjoy flying while not putting others into unnecessary risk.
Take care out there when you are flying.
